Type A Jadeite Safety Coin Pendant, Green Patches, Gold Bail

A natural Type A jadeite safety coin pendant in icy-glutinous texture, a pale blue-green base with patches of bright green, with a gold bail. About 19.2 mm across and 5.5 mm thick.

Icy-glutinous jadeite sits between icy and glutinous: fine-grained and semi-translucent, with a soft glow. Moist and fresh: a few patches of vivid bright green float on a soft, pale blue-green base, deep and light side by side, a lot to look at in a small piece. The gold bail passes through the center hole and is ready to hang on a chain.

A safety coin (平安扣, ping an kou) is a round disc with a center hole. Its name means "peace and safety", and it is a traditional design worn by women, men and children alike. At 19.2 mm it is small and dainty, good for everyday wear or for a child.

Fine stone lines and cotton are hallmarks of natural jadeite; completely clean material is very rare. Phone screens can make the green of this safety coin look brighter or darker than it is; the video in natural light is the best guide. Every photo and video on this page shows this exact piece.

After payment, this 19.2 mm safety coin goes to our inspection center first and leaves only once it matches its certificate. Shipping is free and fully insured. Any import duties are paid on delivery.
