Type A Jadeite Bean Pod Pendant, Icy Bright Green, Gold Set

A natural Type A jadeite fu dou (福豆, bean pod) pendant in icy texture, an even bright green throughout, set in real gold. The stone measures about 19 × 9 × 1.8 mm.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. Fine in both texture and color: the pod is an even, rich bright green, translucent with a glow, and the rounded beans inside are clearly carved. The stone is cut thin, so light passing through makes the green even brighter. It is set in real gold and ready to hang on a chain.

A fu dou is a bean pod with several beans inside. In Chinese, "fu dou" sounds like "fortune arrives", and a pod full of beans traditionally stands for a large, thriving family. At 19 mm long it is a small, refined pendant that sits nicely below the collarbone for everyday wear.

This is natural jadeite, so it may hold fine stone lines or small cotton-like flecks, marks left as the stone formed. Phone screens can make the green of this pendant look brighter or darker than it is; the video in natural light is the best guide. The gold setting reflects light, so photos can look a little brighter than the piece. Please judge it from the photos and video of the actual piece.
