Type A Jadeite Safety Coin, Icy Clear Blue Tint, 21.8mm

A natural Type A jadeite safety coin in icy texture, clear with a faint blue tint, about 21.8 mm across and 4.9 mm thick, without a bail.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. Clean and flawless: the coin is clear throughout with no color roots and a very faint blue cast. The face is full and glowing, and in the light a bright arc forms around the center hole, like a reflection on water.

The safety coin's shape comes from the ancient jade bi disc: round outside and in, with a hole in the middle, and named for "ping an", peace and safety. 21.8 mm is the size women wear most, and a plain icy coin relies on clarity rather than color; it looks good on a red cord or a fine chain.

This is natural material, and some areas may show faint cotton spots or stone lines, which are normal natural features. This 21.8 mm safety coin is icy and lets light through, so strong light shows its inner detail more clearly. Every photo and video on this page shows this exact piece.
