Type A Jadeite Plaque Pendant, Full Bright Green, 18K Gold

A natural Type A jadeite wu shi pai (无事牌, plain plaque) pendant in icy-glutinous texture, a full, even bright green, set in 18K white gold. The stone measures about 16.3 × 11.8 × 2 mm.

Icy-glutinous jadeite sits between icy and glutinous: fine-grained and semi-translucent, with a soft glow. Fine in both texture and color: a small trapezoid plaque, narrow at the top and wider at the base, rich even bright green all over with an oily luster and no white or stray color. Cut just 2 mm thin, it lets light pass through so the green looks brighter and livelier. The white gold setting runs around the edge, with a flower-shaped bail on top.

A wu shi pai is left uncarved; its name means "nothing amiss", a wish for a peaceful, untroubled life, and with no carving to help, everything rests on the stone, which is why a full-color plaque is a real test of material. At around 16 mm it is small and refined for everyday wear, and a thoughtful gift for a mother or an older relative.

This is natural material, and some areas may show faint cotton spots or stone lines, which are normal natural features. Phone screens can make the green of this 16.3 mm plaque look brighter or darker than it is; the video in natural light is the best guide.
