Type A Jadeite Guanyin Pendant, Icy Blue-Green, Lotus, 61mm

A natural Type A jadeite Guanyin pendant in icy texture with floating color, about 60.7 × 39.3 × 5.6 mm.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. Guanyin sits on a lotus throne with a halo behind her. The head and halo are clear and nearly colorless, while the body and lotus are a translucent blue-green with a touch of green flower at the chest, the color shading naturally from top to bottom like water.

Guanyin, the bodhisattva of compassion, is one of the most classic jadeite carving subjects. A traditional saying has men wear Guanyin and women wear the Buddha, but today both are worn by anyone. At 60.7 mm long it is a large, impressive piece to wear on a cord or chain.

Like all natural jadeite (also known as Burmese jade), this pendant may show small natural features such as stone lines or fine cotton, and its colors look slightly different in different light. Please judge it from the photos and video, which show the actual pendant.
