Type A Jadeite Ping An Kou Pendant, Icy, 18K Gold, 30.5mm

A natural Type A jadeite safety buckle (ping an kou, 平安扣) pendant in icy texture, nearly colorless with a few faint green threads, on an 18K white gold bail. Diameter 30.5 mm, thickness 5.4 mm.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and clearly translucent. This disc is clean and bright, close to colorless, with a few soft green threads toward the lower edge.

A safety buckle is a round disc with a hole in the center, sometimes called a jade donut. The 18K white gold bail passes through the center hole to hold it. In Chinese tradition the ping an kou stands for safety and peace, a favorite piece to wear yourself or give to family.

Like all natural jadeite (also known as Burmese jade), this pendant may show small natural features such as stone lines or fine cotton, and its colors look slightly different in different light. Please judge it from the photos and video, which show the actual pendant.
