Type A Jadeite Fu Bei Pendant, Icy Blue Flower, Gold Bail

A natural Type A jadeite fu bei (福贝) pendant in icy texture with blue-green floating flowers and a gold bail, about 33.3 × 25 × 3.8 mm.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. Fine threads of deeper blue-green drift through a clear blue-green base. The rounded shape is carved with concentric rings around a full domed center, with a simple carved crown at the top and clean lines.

Shells were once used as money in ancient China, so the fu bei ("fortune shell") stands for treasure and good fortune, a traditional jadeite pendant subject. The gold bail is ready to hang on a chain.

Like all natural jadeite (also known as Burmese jade), this pendant may show small natural features such as stone lines or fine cotton, and its colors look slightly different in different light. Please judge it from the photos and video, which show the actual pendant.
