Type A Jadeite Leaf Pendant, Icy Spicy Green, Gold Set, 20mm

A natural Type A jadeite leaf pendant in icy texture and spicy green (辣绿), set in real gold. The stone measures about 20 × 10.9 × 1.6 mm.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. Both texture and color are fine: an even, intense spicy green over the whole leaf, bright and translucent with a strong glow. The veins are carved clearly and smoothly and the leaf has a full shape. Spicy green (la lü, 辣绿) is the trade name for a vivid, intense green with a slight yellow tone, very eye-catching. The real gold setting is ready to hang on a chain.

The leaf is a traditional jadeite subject; in Chinese, "leaf" (叶) sounds like "career" (业), and "golden branches, jade leaves" is an old phrase for something precious. A small, fully green leaf is a refined, colorful piece for everyday wear.

As a natural mineral, jadeite nearly always carries some growth marks such as cotton or stone lines; they do not affect wear. Phone screens can make the green of this 20 mm leaf pendant look brighter or darker than it is; the video in natural light is the best guide. The gold setting reflects light, so photos can look a little brighter than the piece. Please judge it from the photos and video of the actual piece.
