Type A Jadeite Round Bangle, White & Bright Green, 55mm

A natural Type A jadeite round bangle (fu bangle, 福镯) in icy-glutinous texture, white with bright green on the upper half. Inner size 55 mm.

Icy-glutinous jadeite sits between icy and glutinous: fine-grained and semi-translucent, with a soft glow. Beautiful, fine color: on a clean white base, patches of bright green float around the upper half of the bangle, vivid and softly blurred at the edges, while the lower half stays mostly white with just a short touch of green near the red thread. Worn with the green side out, the back of the hand shows almost all green.

This round style is the one older generations wore most, and its curved surface shows the glow of the jade best. 8.6 mm wide and 9 mm thick; the 55 mm inner size is a common size.

This is natural jadeite, so it may hold fine stone lines or small cotton-like flecks, marks left as the stone formed. The flowers in this 8.6 mm-wide bangle sit where nature put them; no other piece has quite the same pattern. Screens show color differently, so it helps to check the video as well.
