A natural Type A jadeite fu dou (福豆, bean pod) pendant in icy texture, clear and colorless, set in 18K white gold. The stone measures about 40.8 × 23 × 5 mm.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. This one is clear as still water and almost colorless, with three plump, rounded beans that grow larger toward the bottom, each carrying a soft floating glow across its curve. At 40.8 mm long and 5 mm thick it is a large bean pod, a striking piece worn on the chest. The 18K white gold setting wraps the whole edge, with an open back that lets light into the stone.

Three beans in one pod are often read in the trade as 连中三元, "first place three times in a row", from the old imperial exams, and are now given as a wish for steady success at school or work; "fu dou" itself sounds like "fortune arrives".
