Type A Jadeite Safety Coin Pendant, Green, Gold Bail, 31mm

A natural Type A jadeite safety coin pendant in icy-glutinous texture, a pale bluish-white base with one patch of bright green, on a gold bail. About 30.7 mm across and 5.9 mm thick.

Beautiful color with a juicy glow. Most of the coin is a clear, pale bluish white; on the lower half a vivid green spreads out from the center hole, deep like a new leaf where it is strongest and fading softly at the edges into the base. The gold bail drops a line of small gold beads through the hole from a flower-shaped top set with white stones, with a curved gold hook at the back.

At 30.7 mm this is a larger safety coin that stands out on the chest, and 5.9 mm of thickness gives it a full, rounded face. The round coin with a hole in the middle is a classic wish for safety and completeness, worn by men and women alike and often given to parents and grandparents.

The green grew in nature and sits off to one side, which is what makes this coin its own. Up close there is a little fine cotton, a common growth texture in natural jadeite.
