A natural Type A jadeite three-bean pod pendant in icy-glutinous texture, white shading into pale blue-green, on a gold bail. About 45.8 × 20 × 6.1 mm.

Juicy and flawless to the eye. Three plump beans sit in a row inside the pod, each one bigger than the one above, and the color moves with them, from milky white at the top to a clear pale green in the last bean, as if the beans ripen as they go. Each bean is polished into a high dome with a good gel-like glow, and a thin outline of pod runs around the edge, clean and simple.

In Chinese a lucky bean (fu dou) sounds like "fortune arrives", and three beans in a pod recall the old wish to come first in three exams in a row, so it stands for good luck in study and career as well as in life.
