Type A Jadeite Gourd Pendant, Icy Clear, Gold Bail, 16mm

A natural Type A jadeite gourd (葫芦) pendant in icy texture, clear and nearly colorless with a faint cool blue tone, with a gold bail. About 16 × 10.8 × 6.4 mm.

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. This piece is clean and clear throughout, with almost no visible inclusions and a bright luster; the plump, rounded gourd shape shows off its translucency.

In Chinese, gourd (hulu) sounds like fu lu, "blessings and prosperity", which makes it a traditional auspicious motif. At about 16 mm it is small and refined for everyday wear, with a gold bail ready to hang on a chain.

Like all natural jadeite (also known as Burmese jade), this pendant may show small natural features such as stone lines or fine cotton, and its colors look slightly different in different light. Please judge it from the photos and video, which show the actual pendant.
