Type A Jadeite Plain Tablet Pendant, Icy, Green Fleck, 24mm

A natural Type A jadeite plain tablet (wu shi pai) pendant in icy texture, an icy white body with a single fleck of green, on a gold bail. About 24.4 × 10.2 × 5.1 mm.

Good texture and plenty of water. The tablet narrows toward the top, and the clear icy body holds faint white wisps like a light mist. Across the middle runs one small stroke of bright green, like a new shoot just breaking through, and it is the eye-catcher of the piece. The side edges are cut crisply and shine with a watery light from the side.

A wu shi pai carries no carving at all; the name means "nothing wrong", a wish for a calm, trouble-free life, and a blank face shows the quality of the material best. At 10.2 mm wide it is slender and refined, made to sit alone between the collarbones, for women or men.

The green sits where nature put it, off-center, and that is its character. The fine wisps you can see in icy jadeite are natural growth texture, visible up close. All photos and the video are of this tablet; judge the green by the video.
