Type A Jadeite Laughing Buddha Pendant, Blue Tint, 18K Gold

A natural Type A jadeite Laughing Buddha pendant in icy texture with a soft blue tint, finished with an 18K gold bail. Overall size 27.7 × 31 × 5.3 mm.

The icy body is clear with a gel-like glow and a faint cool blue tone, which Chinese buyers call "blue clear base"; in the light the whole piece gives off a soft blue-white sheen that looks clean and fresh. The Buddha is carved with a warm smile, a full round belly and flowing robe lines, and the large smooth belly shows off the texture of the stone. A flower-shaped 18K yellow gold bail adds a warm touch against the icy blue. The Laughing Buddha stands for happiness and good fortune close at hand, a classic motif worn by both men and women.

At 31 mm wide and 5.3 mm thick it has a comfortable, substantial presence without being heavy.

Like all natural jadeite (also known as Burmese jade), this piece may show small natural features such as stone lines or fine cotton. Please judge it from the photos and video, which show the actual piece. The chain in the photos is for display only and is not included.
