Type A Jadeite Cabochon Pair, Icy Bright Green, 5.8mm

A pair of natural Type A jadeite cabochons in icy texture, a full bright green, each about 5.8 × 5.4 × 2.5 mm. They are sold as loose stones and are currently fitted in brass display mounts (stud earring style).

Icy jadeite is fine-grained and highly translucent, so light passes through it with a clear, watery glow. Good texture and plenty of water: both small round cabochons are a vivid bright green, icy with a glow, and well matched in size and color. They are domed full, with a moist sheen under light.

The brass mounts were fitted only for display. They are brass, not precious metal, and ship with the stones: you can wear them as studs straight away, or have a jeweler reset the pair in 18K gold as earrings, a ring or a pendant. Sold as a pair only.

As a natural mineral, jadeite nearly always carries some cotton or stone lines; they do not affect wear. On a phone screen the color of this pair of 5.8 mm cabochons can look stronger or paler than it is, so the video in natural light is the best guide.
